Flipped Learning 3.0 uses a technical approach – undoubtedly! Nevertheless, it makes sense not to focus on technology only. Technology-enhanced learning or training is a modern way of teaching, much appreciated by the learners nowadays. Nevertheless, technology is not the last word of wisdom. Analogue methods, like handwriting or creating some scribbles with paper and pencil, are of the same importance in active learning as the creation of a digital mind map. Analogue methods can be used perfectly by groups, as a way to implement collaborative learning, as well. Digital & analogue is an approach that brings a change in the learning process.

Here you find two examples how to mix analogue and digital working methods

Find the keywords

You give the learners an assignment to find specific keywords with two different meanings. All learners get a set of differently colored post-it. They have to write the keyword on this small sheet of paper and fix it on a whiteboard.

One person in the group clusters the results and removes the double.

The learners are split into groups and summarise the found terms and keywords in a short digital presentation. Each group presents finally their findings.

Analysis of data

In groups of two, the given data is analysed and interpreted. Each group creates a Cornell1-based note and extracts the key values out of these notes.

Finally, the groups compare their findings in a group discussion and create a joint outcome document.
